Baseball Set to Music

Dedicated “to all lovers of the national game,” this ode to baseball in six verses celebrates the sport in American culture and its transcontinental reach. “Let others have their cricket . . . baseball’s the game for me,” goes the chorus, and the concluding stanza urges, “Long may baseball flourish in each state throughout the land. . . . And three cheers for the game we love, American Baseball.”
