First World Series Ticket

In the first modern World Series, a best-of-nine competition played in 1903 between the National League and the American League champions, the Boston Red Sox charged fifty cents admission to their home games. The large number three on the ticket likely refers to the third game in the series, which drew nearly 19,000 fans to the Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds.
