An Alarming Dream

Winsor McCay shows Little Nemo, his signature character, caught in the beak of a giant Thanksgiving turkey bent on eating Nemo for dinner. In an attempt to escape, he inches down the turkey’s back despite its repeated threats. The turkey then begins spinning rapidly, making Nemo dizzy before waking up from his dream to find himself on the floor. McCay’s imaginative flair for creating and drawing adventures for his characters, especially Nemo, continues to inspire artists today.
