Superheroes from Real Life

Renowned comic-book artist Alex Ross upends tradition in this breathtaking image of Superman and his dog Krypto admiring the heroes of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Depicting the legendary icon as a small figure standing in awe below people from everyday occupations, Ross portrays firemen, rescue workers, health care professionals, and other ordinary people, as larger-than-life figures to celebrate those proving themselves superhuman in heroic deeds of sacrifice.
