A Nervous Kenneth Lay at Enron Trial

As Mark Koenig, Enron's head of investor relations, testifies, nervous CEO Ken Lay appears to bite his fingernails. The government had charged Lay and Skilling with conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud at Enron, a natural gas pipeline company. Daniel Petrocelli led the defense team. The company's former president, Jeffrey Skilling, who sits to Lay's immediate left, looks over his shoulder. Lay died of a heart attack while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado. Koenig served an 18-month sentence and Jeffrey Skilling may be released in 2017: appeal at U.S. v. Jeffrey Skilling, 554 F.3d 529 and 561 U.S. 358.
