Law Day: “Justice through the Perspective of an Eye-Witness Artist”

Thursday, April 27, Noon–1:00 p.m.

Hosted by the Law Library of Congress and Prints and Photographs Division
The event, which is being held in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, will feature courtroom illustrators Pat Lopez, Marilyn Church, and Bill Robles. Curator Sara Duke will lead a discussion with the artists about their work and careers as courtroom illustrators.

Curators Sara Duke and Margaret Wood and exhibition directors Betsy Nahum-Miller and Carroll Johnson-Welsh discuss the courtroom illustration collection at the Library of Congress and highlights of the exhibition.

Margaret Wood, exhibition co-curator and reference librarian in the Law Library of Congress, discusses significant and landmark court cases as represented in the exhibitions and provides tips on researching these cases in legal resources available online and in print.
