Altered States—Dreaming

Lilli Carré's vignettes of dreaming and waking in a stream-of-consciousness mode literally unfolds as a two-sided, color minicomic. Artistically sophisticated and technically accomplished, this limited edition silkscreen stands out among minicomics, which tend mostly to be black and white and photocopied. In red and blue imagery, Carré's male narrator relates a dream encounter with a woman mysteriously familiar yet unidentified. The verso shows the character after awakening. Born in Los Angeles, trained and based in Chicago, this versatile artist creates graphic narratives, online comics, and animations.
