Disney

Walt Disney was a struggling animator in 1928, when he introduced Mickey Mouse to motion picture audiences. By the time of his death in 1966, Disney had created an enduring empire, initially based on such animated characters as Mickey and Donald Duck. However, as an innovative entrepreneur, Walt Disney understood the role of marketing his characters so that they became instantly recognizable. Licensed products included comic books, comic strips, figurines, and other related commercial products. Stephen Geppi is clear about his passion, “I love [Disney Comics], and I am a diehard Carl Barks [American cartoonist and creator of Scrooge McDuck] fan.”
