Comic Club

Many materials in Mr. Geppi’s collection highlight the intersections between comics, popular culture, and marketing. The Geppi Collection features numerous mail-ins, promotional giveaways, club materials, and other related ephemera that reconstruct the experience of reading and engaging with the materials when they were released. Capitalizing on the predominance of newspaper comics marketed to children, this undated color comic page includes a comic strip as well as an advertisement for free comic masks and an ad for Juicy Fruit® gum to entice young viewers.
