Adventures of Jerry Lewis

American comedian, actor, director, and singer Jerry Lewis began his decades-long career in the 1940s as part of a comedy duo with Dean Martin. As partners, they appeared in dozens of live performances, radio, television, and films and became household names in the mid-twentieth century. As a testament to this popularity, a celebrity comic series The Adventures of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis began publishing in 1952. The series was later renamed the Adventures of Jerry Lewis after the duo separated in 1957 and continued solo careers. This type of popular culture material is a significant element to the Geppi Collection that highlights the intersections between film, television, comics, and other areas of popular culture during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
