Saturday Evening Post
The Saturday Evening Post was one of the most influential American cultural magazines in the mid-twentieth century. It featured articles on current events, human interest, editorials, cartoons, and fiction, and was known for its cover illustrations, in particular those by Norman Rockwell. This issue features the musical group, the Mamas and the Papas. “Mama” Cass Elliot, Michelle Phillips, John Phillips, and Denny Doherty were known as much for their music as their personal lives and drama. Their hits “Monday, Monday” and “California Dreamin’” continue to be touchstones in the history of American music.
