Sports Action

Post World War II, non-superhero comics—such as sports, westerns, romance, and funny animals—became increasingly popular with the public. Running for thirteen issues between 1950 and 1952, this series featured non-fiction stories of contemporary and historic sports figures who ranged from Roman gladiators to college football stars. Similar to other series such as Babe Ruth Comics, Sports Action highlighted stories of all sports: baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, wrestling, football, and others.
