Developed by Milestone Comics founders Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, and Derek T. Dingle, and published through DC Comics, Static follows Black teenager Virgil Ovid Hawkins as he develops electromagnetic powers. Static has appeared in various DC Comics series, including Teen Titans, and in animated series as well as video games. He became one of the most well known characters created by Milestone Comics, one of the only Black creator owned and operated comic book companies.
