Rosa Parks: A Strong Commitment to Human Rights

In a series of stained glass-like letterpress posters, artist Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr., presents selected quotes by civil rights pioneer Rosa Louise Parks. Best-known for refusing to relinquish her seat on a segregated bus in 1955, resulting in the bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama, Parks reportedly spoke these words during a 1998 conversation with Courtland Milloy, as recalled in his 2005 Washington Post article “She Sat Down and Taught Us to Stand Up.”
