Combat Paper Project

The Combat Paper Project, founded by Iraq War veteran Drew Cameron and artist Drew Matott, invited veterans to share their experiences of war and military service by creating art with pulp paper made of old uniforms. This portrait shows artist Ruth Lynn McIntosh (on the left) and her sister, both veterans. McIntosh wrote: “I was just entering active duty in the Air Force Nurse Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant and Alice was a reservist completing medical school on an Air Force scholarship, soon to become a doctor and a Captain in the Air Force Medical Corps. We both felt it was a great honor to serve our country.”
