Sharon Farmer, later appointed to a team of White House photographers for President Clinton, captured the exuberant Beatrice Fergerson, demonstrating her hula hoop prowess. “She’d hurt her hip or she would have ridden her bicycle for me,” said Farmer of the D.C. grandmother. “She was known in the neighborhood for biking and hula hooping.”
