ABEL & COMPANY. New York book campaign for military personnel. New York, New York, 1919

A woman stands on a tower of books in front of the New York Public Library soliciting book donations for soldiers in World War I. From 1917 to 1920, the American Library Association and its affiliates distributed between seven and ten million books and magazines and established roughly thirty-six libraries at camps across the United States and in Europe.
