Cards and Notes from Children

During her long life Rosa Parks became a tangible reminder to schoolchildren of her sacrifice, bravery, and dignity during the struggle for civil rights as African American history was integrated into the school curriculum. More than 500 hand-crafted birthday cards and thank you notes by school children were sent to Rosa from all over the United States during the last decades of her life.
