Pope John Paul II

In January 1999 Rosa Parks traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, to meet with Pope John Paul II. He began the New Year by calling for racial healing. After a prayer service at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis, Rosa shared her thoughts on civil rights and racial healing with the Pope and gave him a copy of her book, Quiet Strength (1994).
