Emblem of Good Will
Polish Declarations of Admiration and Friendship for the United States is a collection of 111 manuscript volumes compiled in Poland in 1926 to honor the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Signed by an estimated 5.5 million Polish citizens, the collection represents more than one-sixth of the total population of Poland at that time. Richly illustrated with original works, as well as greetings and signatures by government officials, these volumes honor a longstanding connection between Poland and the United States. Signatories also include representatives of religious, social, business, academic, and military institutions, as well as teachers and pupils of some twenty thousand elementary schools.
