Ralph Irving Carey

After New Hampshire native Ralph Irving Carey was drafted into the Army, his notebook became a trusted companion, both on and off duty. He recorded lists of procedures, chain of command, rosters, and entries about his daily activities and involvement in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives, as well as poetry and the humorous words to tunes including the "Trench Song" and "English Marching Song," which he records here.
