LOC SkillPort- First Time User?

As part of our ongoing commitment to your continuing development we are introducing an exciting new site called LOC SkillPort. Library of Congress staff will now have access to over 2,500 online courses, 14,000 online books, and hundreds of additional online learning assets such as videos, simulations, and job aids. To get started, you'll need an LOC e-mail address and password.

Obtain a Password

1. Go to the LOC SkillPort webpage.
2. When the Login Page displays, enter your LOC e-mail address as both the LOC e-mail and as your initial password.  You will be requested to change your password on login.
3. Select Login to SkillPort.

Result: The Home page displays summary information to help you develop an individualized learning plan and track your progress.

Features of LOC Skillport

 

Search-and-Learn:  Use this feature to quickly find information on specific topics using keyword searches.  You can search for Courses, Books, and everything else. 
My Plan displays all courses and/or specific curriculums that you are currently enrolled in. Click the Link to access course content.
My Progress shows course progress and contains information about the number of courses you have started and completed. You can also print reports and certificates of completion.

The SHORTCUTS Menu:  Provides the following information, in addition to links to the sections highlighted above:

Take a Virtual Tour: Allows access to short “tours” of various areas of the Website.
Books24x7: Direct access to the full-featured books site.
User Guide: Full documentation for the site.
Support: This provides 24/7 access to SkillSoft’s multiple support options.

Live Help: Enables you to chat live with a SkillSoft Technician if you are having any issues.

Technical Support: Provides you with additional support including FAQ’s, Systems Requirements Check, & other methods.
