FLICC Working Group Library of Congress Bicentennial |
The mission of the FLICC LC Bicentennial Working Group, an ad hoc working group, is to establish the focus and scope of a federal library presence in the LC Bicentennial celebration and identify appropriate avenues, activities, and materials for federal library participation. Because federal libraries and information centers comprise the nation's collections, the working group intends to recognize, publicize, and promote the identity of all federal libraries and information centers by joining with LC in its bicenntenial celebrations. The working group supports programs in the following areas:
- increased recognition of federal library and information centers;
- program development which provides benefits for all federal libraries and information centers beyond the LC Bicentennial year;
- linkage of federal libraries with LC as part of the Nation's Collections; and
- promotion of contributions by the federal library community to the LC Bicentennial celebration.
