http://www.wln.org

The Western Library Network (WLN) and OCLC have merged to become the OCLC/WLN Pacific Nothwest Service Center that offers a wide variety of computer services to libraries in the Western US and around the world. The primary library services available are as follows: Acquisitions, Authority Control, Batch Holdings, Bibliographic/Cataloging, CD-ROM Catalogs, Citation & Full Text Databases, Collection Assessment Services, Database Preparation, Interlibrary Loan and Internet Services. Independent of the use of the major subsystems, users may elect to access WLN via the WLN leased line network, direct dial access or Internet. Search only access is also available. WLN has also released a CD-ROM version of its WLN database, called LaserCat, which gives the library the ability to search a major part (4.2 million MARC records) of the WLN database without a direct link to the Network. Also available from WLN is a CD-ROM entitled PolarPac, which includes bibliographic records relevant to polar research topics and serials. PolarPac covers holdings of thirty-four libraries in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, Greenland, Italy, Sweden, and the US.
