Carver-Price oral history project

Repository: Carver-Price Legacy Museum

Collection Description (CRHP): These twenty-one oral histories examine Carver-Price High School, a former black high school in Appomattox County, Virginia. Former teachers and students as well as a former school secretary were interviewed. After Prince Edward County public schools closed their doors to avoid integration, some students went to Carver-Price High School. A timeline on civil rights and black education from 1865 to 2008 is also included as part of this project.
