Collection Description (Extant): Seattle area video and audio interviews were conducted by University of Washington students in Lawson's African American history class, 1993. Bremerton video, audio, and transcribed interviews were conducted by Olympic College students with Bremerton area Blacks and Caucasians in 1992 and 1993. Included also are several interviews done by students of [Pacific] Northwest History at Green River College in 1993 and students of African American History at Lower Columbia College in 1996. Some interviews include photographs and clippings. Topics discussed include race relations, the Great Depression, World War II, work experiences, civil rights, women's rights and African American westward migration.
