Collection Description (CRHP): Between 1985 and 1988, Alan Cherry conducted interviews with 224 black Mormons throughout the United States as part of an oral history project for the BYU Charles Redd Center for Western Studies. In the course of narrating their life histories, interviewees address race relations and civil rights concerns in their home regions and within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
