Repository description (CRHP): The Georgetown County Library System houses two collections that relate to the Civil Rights History Project. They include the Southern Women Series: The Women of Georgetown County and the Georgetown Committee Oral History Series. One volume from the Southern Women Series discusses segregation/race relations in the county. While the Georgetown Committee Oral History Series include the life history of Minnie Kennedy, a native of the county who became active in educational aspects of the civil rights movement in New York City.
Repository description (extant): The Georgetown County Library System has four branches: the headquarters in Georgetown, Andrews, Carvers Bay and Waccamaw Neck as well as a bookmobile. The headquarters houses the system's Local History Collection, which include a Genealogical and Historical Research room, and a Rare Books and Manuscripts room.
