Repository description (extant): The Indiana University South Bend Archives, located in the Franklin D. Schurz Library, is the repository for materials that document the history of Indiana University South Bend as well as the histories of the larger Michiana area. The Archives collects, preserves, and makes available for researchers campus records of historic or administrative value, as well as special donated collections. The Archives holds historical records created by faculty, academic departments, administrative offices, students, campus organizations, as well as community members. In addition, the Archives operates the campus records management program on campus and holds the campus Special Collections. The main objectives of the IU South Bend Archives are to preserve, organize, and make available its materials to IU South Bend campus as well as the community at large.
