Has prospectus, [4] p., bound in at end. In blue and brown morocco doublure binding signed: Bound by Blackwell; 34 cm. Elaborate gold tooling on front, back and inside covers, leather flyleaves and spine. Raised bands and gilt title on spine. Spanish coat of arms in gilt on front cover with legend: A Castilla y a Leon Nuevo Mundo dio Colon. Gilt emblem of the U.S.A. in gilt on back: E pluribus unum. Top edge gilt. In a custom made cardboard case with leather spine with raised bands and gold tooling. Gift of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bancroft Davis, 10 May 1909.

  • KKT2680 .A35 1893 Copy 4 No. 7 of the 13 copies printed on vellum. This copy has all sheets laid loose in a portfolio composed of the same pictorial paper covers as the bound copies (nos. 14-88); the portfolio covers are threaded with wide velvet ties that fasten with metal buckles. In a custom made marbled clamshell box with pictorial paper label on front (identical to the title and illustrations on the dust jacket for the bound copies) and leather spine tooled in gold. The clamshell box is enclosed in a second marbled box. Provenance: Gift of Jay I. Kislak Foundation. Accompanying material laid in.
