Summary

  • "A princess will have nothing to do with a neighboring prince her father, the king, has chosen for her. The Cardinal suggests that the prince disguise himself as a guard, and arranges for him to save the princess from three thugs. She falls in love with him, and the Cardinal underscores his advantage by having the prince imprisoned. The princess, of course, does all she can to aid him escape and then defiantly presents him to her father as the man she will wed. The 'guard' is then revealed as the prince. The king is happy at having gained his way. All of the actors wear early eighteenth-century French costumes"--Early motion pictures.
