About this Item

Title

  • The Inner Circle

Summary

  • A lonely widower is told to bomb Senor Cataldo's house by the Inner Circle, a secret society of which he is a reluctant member. Sr. Cataldo's offence is that he has gone to the police with an extortion note he received from the Inner Circle. While the widower is being given his instructions, his little girl wanders away from her caretaker and is struck by a car. Senora Cataldo, out shopping, sees the accident and takes the child home to care for her. The widower refuses to carry out the bomb plot until he and his daughter are threatened. He reluctantly plants the bomb in the basement of Cataldo's house. As he is leaving the premises, he spots his daughter through a window. Just then, he is struck down and captured by the police. He is taken into the house. When he comes to, he rushes out of the house and into the basement. He retrieves the bomb just before it explodes. Only the widower is injured in the explosion. The Cataldo family and his little girl are saved.
