About this Item
- Title
- Aggression -- "Not a pleasant outlook for me!"
- Summary
- Cartoon shows a worried-looking cave man (labeled "Aggression")looking over a wall at President Truman and General MacArthur who are talking under a palm tree. Suggests that Truman's trip to Wake Island in October 1950 to confer with MacArthur, who commanded the United Nations forces in Korea, showed a unity of American purpose that did not bode well for the North Koreans (seen by the Americans as the aggressors). Actually, MacArthur's drive to end the war was shattered when the Chinese entered the war only a few months later.
