  • The film was made in May 1939 on a day celebrating what would be Freud's last birthday. The largely color film shows preparations before the party, including Paula Fichtl tying decorative collars and messages around the necks of the chow, Lün and Pekinese, Jumbo. A table is prepared to hold gifts and mementos. Other scenes take place during the party. Family members and guests mingle and converse, among them Anna Freud, Martha Freud, Minna Bernays, Ernst L. Freud and his wife Lucie, Martin Freud, Princess Marie Bonaparte, Dorothy T. Burlingham, Paula Fichtl, and a variety of grandchildren.
