  • -  После разрушительного пожара в Красноярске в 1887 г. возросло строительство преимущественно каменных зданий. Справа, на переднем плане - здание Благородного собрания, построенного по проекту декабриста П.С. Батенькова., слева 3-4 дома - усадьба Кандаурова, где в 1890 г. располагалась почтовая станция с гостиницей "Олень". Во время своего путешествия на Сахалин в ней останавливался писатель Антон Павлович Чехов. Гостиницу "Олень" еще называли "Чижик" , по фамилии дворянина В.И. Чижика (в прошлом ссыльного), который был нанят "следить за торговлею и порядком по буфету и нумерам" и вести торговлю при гостинице "Олень" по своему усмотрению.
