  • Grum-Grzhimailo was a well-known geographer, explorer and researcher of Central Asia and Southern Siberia but he never visited the Amur region. He completed this work on the instructions of the Finance Minister, using all possible sources about the Amur. Grum-Grzhimailo's book was considered the encyclopedia of the Amur Oblast for that time. The volume was edited and contains a foreward by the famous leader of Russian geographers, Petr Petrovich Semenov-Tian-Shanskii. World Digital Library.
