Summary
- A three-member board mediates disputes and disagreements submitted for review by the people involved. Complainants and respondents are interviewed by A.L. Alexander and the mediators. In this episode, the board considers two cases. In the first case, a 15-year-old girl wants to quit school to pursue a career as an actress and model. She believes that if she starts at once to make contacts and audition, she will have a well-established career by the time she is 18 or 19. She wants her mother to encourage her to realize her ambition, rather than nagging her to finish her schooling. Her mother is an immigrant from Poland, and because of the war, was unable to finish her education. She believes that a good education will be the foundation of her daughter's career, whether she becomes an actress or not. In the second case, a man complains that his wife of 18 years does not like his mother, and has banned her from their house for the past 6 years. He wants his wife to be cordial to his mother and allow her to visit. His wife says that her mother-in-law is outspoken, aggressive and critical, and will not hold her tongue and behave like a good guest. When her mother-in-law's behavior began to affect her health, she asked her to stop coming to their home. She has no problem with her husband and their children going to visit her mother-in-law.

- - The Court of human relations originated as a popular radio program, also created and moderated by A.L. Alexander. In one or two cases per episode, a panel of mediators, including clergymen, authors, judges, educators, and other notables give advice on interpersonal problems presented to them by actual people, called "complainants" and "respondents". The cases involve family and other personal disputes, marital entanglements, emotional problems, and financial disagreements. The show aired in the afternoon on NBC from June 22, 1959 to August 21, 1959.
