Summary

  • Angelique, known as Angel, moves from France to the United States to marry American architect, John Smith. The newlyweds set up housekeeping in Los Angeles, California. She tries her best to be a good housewife but sometimes runs into problems as she learns English and adapts to her new life and culture. In this episode, Angel accidentally breaks Johnny's expensive home movie camera, but doesn't have the money to get it repaired. Meanwhile, Johnny decides that Angel needs a maid to help with the heavy housework, but the woman who comes from the agency is lazy and demanding, so Angel fires her. However, when Johnny gives Angel money to pay the maid, she realizes that she can pretend to be the maid, clean her own house, and her neighbor's house, and eventually make enough money to get the camera fixed.
