- Yukio Sato, adviser and former executive director of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), discussed "Science and Technology Policy in Japan and JST Activities" in a program sponsored by the Science, Technology and Business Division. JST was established in October 2003 as an independent administrative institution in Japan by integrating two quasi-government organizations, the Japan Information Center of Science and Technology and the Research Development Corporation of Japan, for the purpose of implementing Japan's science and technology policy.
