She is also famous for "The Spiderwick Chronicles," on which she collaborated with artist Tony DiTerlizzi. The "Chronicles" were made into a film in 2008. The New York Post called the five books in the series "vintage Victorian fantasy." Black's new novel is "The Coldest Girl in Coldtown." It received a starred review in Kirkus, which called it "dark and dangerous, bloody and brilliant."
