- - Mangyan transliteration: 1. Kang pamanglo si dayap, 2. Gurang, danga magharap! 3. Kontay inda mamorak; 4. No binagyo abagat, 5. Labong nangayak tay'ak 6. Sa dayami magsanap.
- - English translation: 1. My perfume is the lemon bloom, 2. Old age, come not near! 3. It bears fruit for us; 4. If the monsoon had blown, 5. Its petals would have dropped 6. Strewn over the fields..
- - Note on author: Kaba ma asawa Kaga Mansalay I think this means the author is "Kaba" or "Kabal" and is married (ma asawa), and "Kaga" is the husband (?). I also surmise that the bamboo verse was written in Mansalay. I think the author is "Kabal" rather than "Kaba" because the collector, Ildefonso Maliwanag, states on the reverse of item 19, that the author is "Kabal": "escrito por: Kabal".
