  • -  The Sulfurs geothermal field is the second most important for its electrical energy capacity in Mexico. Mexico is one of the most advanced countries in geothermal. The sulfurs have an area of 81 square km and are located in the Sierra de San Andres within the neovolcanic axis of Mexico at a height of 2800 meters above sea level. In 1982, the use of its geothermal resource began. Currently, it has an installed capacity of 188mW. 30 of its wells with depths between 600 and 3,500 meters are in continuous production.

All images can be viewed at a large size when you are in any reading room at the Library of Congress. In some cases, only thumbnail (small) images are available when you are outside the Library of Congress because the item is rights restricted or has not been evaluated for rights restrictions.
