Most recently she published a two-book series about the ancient Roman emperor Nero: "The Confessions of Young Nero" and "The Splendor Before the Dark: A Novel of the Emperor Nero." These works were the culmination of more than 30 years of Nero fascination and research.

A regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, with short stories, features and reviews, Gregory is also a frequent broadcaster, a regular contestant on Round Britain Quiz for BBC Radio 4 and the Tudor expert for Channel 4's Time Team. Her new novel is "Tidelands."
