Summary

  • Since December 2016 when the groundbreaking bipartisan 21at Century Cures Act, (the so-called "Cancer Moonshot" bill) that was proposed by then Vice President, Joe Biden), was passed, the Library of Congress hosted the inaugural Panel Discussion on "Cancer Moonshot". Ever since the Library's Health Services Division (HSD) and Science, Technology & Business Division (ST&B) have been hosting the panel discussion. Due to the residual concern of Covid19 pandemic this year, we are hosting this year's panel discussion on "Cancer Moonshot" virtually. HSD and ST&B hope this year's event for the series further promote communications among patients, clinicians and scientists on cancer diagnostics to treatments choices. The focus of this year's event is "Cancer Immunotherapy." We successfully invited the leading scientists and clinicians in this field including the Nobel Laureate, Dr. James Allison at the MD Anderson Cancer Center from Houston, Texas.
