Title
- Veterans History Project Field Kit Companion Video
Summary
- This tutorial video outlines the five steps that will ensure your collection will be accepted by the Library of Congress: Step 1: Prepare; Step 2: Participate; Step 3: Send; Step 4: Access; and, Step 5: Inquire. All collections must follow the 30-20-10 rule by including at least one of the following: a 30-minute audio or video interview; a 20-page written manuscript; or, 10 original photographs or letters. Once you have met one of these requirements, any number of complimentary materials may be included. The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible these personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
