Title
- Connecting Communities Digital Initiative
Summary
- The Connecting Communities Digital Initiative (CCDI), which is part of the Of the People: Widening the Path program at the Library of Congress funded by the Mellon Foundation, held its first Summer Fuse event. The event brought together three inaugural grantees to present on the projects they are developing as part of the initiative: Maya Cade (scholar-in-residence), Huston-Tillotson University (higher education); Kenton County Public Library (libraries, archives and museums). In addition, CCDI advisory board members Andrè Brock, Brian Carpenter, Jennifer Ferretti, Gabrielle Foreman, Bari Talley and Janet Tom shared insights on and critiques of the Library during a panel discussion. Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden and Library Chief Information Officer Judith Conklin offered introductory remarks. The event included a Q&A segment with both in-person and virtual participants.
