  • The Kitchen Sisters (Davia Nelson and Nikki Silva): Oral History with AFC staff members Nancy Groce and Jesse Hocking. In preparation for their 2022 Botkin Lecture "The Kitchen Sisters with Frances McDormand," The Kitchen Sisters are interviewed about their careers as pioneer radio and podcast producers, fieldworkers, and audio documentarians. The Kitchen Sisters collection--some 7,000 hours of interviews, oral histories, songs and field recordings along with photographs, notebooks, journals, shards of sound and research materials--has been acquired recently by the LOC's American Folklife Center.
