In the course of his introduction of Mr. Linney, Mr. Meredith reads the opening speeches from two of Mr. Linney's plays, Old man Joseph and his family, and Childe Byron. Mr. Linney reads, with the aid of actor and playwright Jonathan Bolt, from the Sorrows of Frederick, Holy ghosts, Love suicide at Schofield Barracks, and Childe Byron.
