  • -  Part 2 of a 3-part recording of a demonstration of hambone and other hand games organized by fieldworker Beverly Robinson and staged for video recording in the lounge of Creswell Hall at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton GA, lodging for the field team during the project, the video recordings are on videotapes that carry the project identifiers GA7-V6 and V3 (AFC call numbers not available at this writing), these sound recordings were made at the same time and include the same content as the video; the video logs identify many of the performers: Abigail Mason, Jackie Newton, Glenda Mason, Sheila Rene Mason, Rickie Clark, Greg Mason, Valerie White, and two boys identified as Torrence [Torrance?] and Bobo "of Tifton"; this part of the recording includes setting up; Abigail Mason introduces Shelia Rene Mason and Glenda Mason; Sheila Rene Mason and Glenda Mason demonstrate a hand clapping game with no word, then repeated; same players, another game; Glenda Mason and unidentified girl play a hand clapping game, fieldworker's notes comment on the difficulty of determining, in this sound recording, who is playing the games and when they start and end, interested researchers should consult the video recording; Beverly Robinson interviews the children; Rickie Clark and Greg Mason play a hand clapping game with lyrics; Abigail Mason introduces Glenda Mason and Sheila Rene Mason, who then demonstrate a hand clapping game; Valerie White introduces Jackie Newton and Abigail Mason and the hand clapping game "Say, Say My Playmate"; Sheila Rene Mason, Glenda Mason and unidentified girl perform the hand clapping game "Chain, Chain, Chain" followed by "My Sailor"; Valerie White introduces Abigail Mason and Jackie Newton who perform the hand clapping game "Head Shoulders"; Beverly Robinson talks to the group as they prepare to demonstrate the hambone; hambone demonstration by many performers, Beverly Robinson points out different people and they perform solo as Robinson says their names; Beverly Robinson asking where each live and where they learned to do the Hambone; repeat performances at Robinson's direction.
