Griffin is holding the violin, photo probably made by Alma Whiddon, one of John's father's sisters; 07-08, Cora Lee Williams Griffin (the mother?) on a beach in Florida in the 1930's, photographer is unknown; 09-11, John R. Griffin at Christmas is his current home in about 1970, photo by his daughter Reba Spradley; 12-13, John R. Griffin at a carnival in Lenox in the 1950s, Griffin was a Lenox policeman at that time and is wearing a badge and carrying a 38 pistol in his waistband, the photographer's notes report that Griffin was a Lenox policeman at the time, and served as a policeman for two years in the 1950s, the woman with him is his oldest daughter Carolyn, by his second wife Myrtle Ethel Tyson Griffin; 14-15, Jackson and Lace Osteen (?), two of John R. Griffin's friends from Nashville, the photographer's note state that the men were "old pickin' buddies" of John in the 1920s, photo by Ben Green of Lenox, who used to be a photographer for hire; 16, Artie Lott, with autoharp, photo by Ben Greene, circa 1920, Lott was a neighbor who lived in Lenox and played and sang with John R. Griffin, the photographer's notes report that Griffin has said that Lott wasn't a very good musician, and that Griffin described him as "an afflicted boy, feet deformed, who never married and lived to an old age."
